Vets recognized

Rockport VFW Post 3904 Commander Katie Jackson provided brief remarks during a shortened Veterans Day Observance Wednesday, Nov. 11. After asking veterans in attendance to raise their hands and be recognized (pictured), she noted it would have been easy to forget Veterans Day this year due to COVID-19 and just have a bigger celebration next year, but that wouldn’t have been the right thing to do. “Wherever there is peace. Wherever there is freedom. There is a threat,” she said. “Veterans Day continues to be a day of reflection.” She noted those who have served in the military share similar values - home, family and country.
