Candidates’ (Election) information packets are available at the Rockport Service Center, Office of the City Secretary (2751 SH 35 Bypass, Rockport) and on the City’s website at www.cityofrockport.com for anyone interested in filing an application for a place on the City of Rockport General Election ballot. Information helpful in filing for a place on the ballot is available from the Texas Ethics Commission at www.ethics.state.tx.us.

The positions of Mayor (at-large), Council Member Ward 2 and Council Member Ward 4 will be voted on at the general Election May 7 for two-year terms.

The positions or currently held by: Patrick R. Rios, mayor; Joe David (J.D.) Villa, Ward 2 councilman; and Andrea Hattman, Ward 4 councilwoman.

The first day to file for a place on the ballot for City Council is Wednesday, Jan. 19. The last day to file for a place on the ballot for City Council is 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18.

The first day of early voting by personal appearance is Monday, April 25. The last day of early voting by personal appearance is Tuesday, May 3.

Election Day is May 7.
