Aransas County commissioners held public hearings Monday, Aug. 23 regarding the county’s proposed 2021 tax rate and 2022 budget.

There was no public comment.

The proposed tax rate is $.392917, which is the No New Revenue Rate (NNRR). The current tax rate is $.433543.

The NNRR actually increases revenues by $369,338, or 2.87%. Of that amount, $413,470.48 is tax revenue raised from new property added to the tax roll since last year.

Commissioners are expected to approve the proposed tax rate and proposed budget at its regular meeting Monday, Aug. 30.
