The Fulton Town Council held public hearings regarding its 2020-21 budget and 2020 tax rate Tuesday, Sept. 8, followed by its regular meeting at which they approved the tax rate, as well as an amended budget to allow the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce to receive a larger amount of its hotel occupancy tax (HOT) funds, as long as the amount of HOT monies is greater than that budgeted for the Chamber (see related story).

There was no public comment regarding the tax rate or budget.

The approved tax rate is the voter-approval rate of $.224791. It is the highest rate that can be offered without automatically having to be brought before voters. The no new revenue rate is $.219922.

Fulton’s current tax rate is $.23999.
