The Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce (RFCC) Selection Committee, at its July 1 meeting, unanimously approved Elizabeth (Beth) Journeay as the RFCC’s Interim President/CEO. She began her duties at the Chamber Monday, July 25.
(Note: RFCC President/CEO Diane Probst officially retires Monday, Aug. 1.)
Journeay brings more than 20 years of chamber experience. She served as President/CEO of the Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce from 1999 to 2020, and most recently served as Interim President/CEO of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce.
She is expected to serve the RFCC and its members until the Search Committee finds a permanent replacement for Probst.
“I’m honored and excited to take on this temporary role in Rockport-Fulton,” said Journeay. “The RFCC is in excellent condition. I look forward to working with the board, staff, and volunteers to continue the momentum until a permanent President/CEO is named.”
RFCC Chairman of the Board Courtney Sanchez said the Search Committee has a rough draft of a job description for the new President/CEO, which will be reviewed by Journeay.
“Once the job description is finalized it will be posted,” said Sanchez. “We would like to have our new President/CEO in place by the end of the year at the latest.”
