(Editor’s note: The Rockport Pilot will publish the latest COVID-19 report when received from Aransas County’s public information officer. It will include the historical case count, number recovered, and number of deaths, as well as any pertinent information related to the virus. Additional COVID-19 information is available at dshs.texas.gov.)

Through Monday, March 29 Aransas County had a historical count of 906 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those 906 cases, 837 have recovered (32 active cases), per reporting from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

This latest report includes 49 more cases, and two additional deaths, compared to the numbers reported in the March 3 edition of this newspaper (from March 1 report).

There are 37 confirmed fatalities since the beginning of reporting.

DSHS reports COVID-19 fatality data based on death certificates. A fatality is counted when the medical certifier attests on the death certificate that COVID-19 is “a” cause of death.
