An Aransas County grand jury was convened recently, and issued seven indictments against as many individuals.

(Note: The following indictments weren’t published in the Oct. 28 edition of The Rockport Pilot due to incomplete information.)

Those individuals, listed by name, charge, date of offense, and bond set, are as follows:

Tonya Elaine Bang - Forgery, state jail felony; on or about Dec. 28, 2018 through Jan. 16, 2019, intentionally or knowingly, acting with the intent to defraud or harm another, possessed a writing that was forged, to-wit: checks, with intent to pass it; $5,000 personal recognizance.

Jonathan Howard Bolt – Evading arrest with motor vehicle, state jail felony; on or about Feb. 22, 2019, while using a vehicle intentionally fled from a person the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting lawfully to arrest or detain the defendant; $5,000 surety.

Matthew Alan Tassinari – Evading arrest with motor vehicle, state jail felony; on or about Sept. 29, 2018, while using a vehicle intentionally fled from a person the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting lawfully to arrest or detain the defendant; $2,500 surety.

Octavio Mendiola Aguilar – Aggravated assault with deadly weapon, second degree felony; on or about June 29, 2019, intentionally, knowingly or recklessly threatened to cause bodily injury to complainants by ramming the defendant’s car into the car occupied by the complainants and the defendant did then and there use or exhibit a deadly weapon, to wit: a motor vehicle; $75,000 surety.

Ron Eugene Rice – Assault – family violence with strangulation, third degree felony, repeat felony offender; on or about April 1, 2020 intentionally, knowingly or recklessly caused bodily injury to complainant, a member of the defendant’s family and household, by grabbing complainant with defendant’s hands or striking complainant with defendant’s hands and the defendant did impede the normal breathing or circulation of the blood of complainant by applying pressure to the throat or neck of the complainant with defendant’s hands. Enhancement, on Oct. 8, 2007 convicted of the felony offense of driving while intoxicated 3rd or more; $5,000 personal recognizance.

Brice Edward Wallace – Assault – family violence with strangulation, third degree felony; on or about April 18, 2019 intentionally, knowingly or recklessly caused bodily injury to complainant, a member of the defendant’s family and household, by grabbing complainant with defendant’s hands or striking complainant with defendant’s hands and the defendant did impede the normal breathing or circulation of the blood of complainant by applying pressure to the throat or neck of the complainant with defendant’s hands; $3,000 personal surety.

Robert Ayers – Sex offender’s failure to comply with registration requirements, second degree felony; on or about Nov. 11, 2018, while being a person who had registered with the local law enforcement authority in the county where the defendant resided or intended to reside for more than seven days, to-wit: Aransas County Sheriff’s Department, because of a reportable conviction or reportable convictions for indecency with a child, intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly failed to verify registration information for the defendant’s annual report to said law enforcement agency; $3,000 personal recognizance.
