Through Thursday, Sept. 23 Aransas County had a historical count of 1,891 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those 1,891 cases, 1,588 have recovered (249 estimated active cases), per reporting from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
Aransas County has seen a decrease of 145 active cases (249 vs. 394), since the last report, through Sept. 9.
This latest report includes 178 more cases, and two additional deaths, compared to the numbers reported in the Sept. 11 edition of this newspaper (from Sept. 9 report).
There are 54 confirmed fatalities since the beginning of reporting.
COVID-19 vaccine widely available
COVID-19 vaccines are available at all pharmacies in Rockport.
Additionally, vaccinations will be administered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday (until further notice) at Allegiance EMS (400 Enterprise Blvd. #B, Rockport).
