Another major hotel is open.
Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Bay Blazers held a ribbon cutting Thursday, Dec. 5 for the opening of Lighthouse Inn at Aransas Bay (200 S. Fulton Beach Rd.)
Owners Rocky and Carol Reese built the unique hotel in 2003 with 78 total guest rooms. The Inn’s 36 single rooms have two queen beds while 42 suites include a full kitchen, king-size bed and sleeper sofa. Each room offers a private balcony with rocking chairs. Other amenities include a landscaped courtyard with a pool and hot tub, a 90-foot lighted fishing pier, fitness center with bay views, The Mercantile gift shop, and a library.
Since it’s opening in 2003, it has been a favorite accommodation for those traveling to Rockport to enjoy its warm weather, excellent fishing, birding, sailing, shopping, and festivals. After sustaining extensive damage during Hurricane Harvey, the owners worked feverishly to complete repairs and reopen the beautiful, Victorian Boutique-style inn.
On Jan. 25, 2019, after more than a year of construction, 24 first-floor guest rooms were opened. It was not until July 2019 that more rooms were added on the second floor, totaling 51. On Aug. 30, 2019, two years and one-week after the storm, The Lighthouse Inn reopened its beautiful lobby; complete with a full-service bar, new floors, paint, furniture, and décor. The hotel now has an upgraded version of its original Victorian charm.
The Reese’s thank TMG Construction for its hard work and dedication, as well as the entire community for its support.
