The Aransas County Independent School District (ACISD) remains closed through Thursday, April 9, unchanged from its previous update. The expected return date is still Tuesday, April 14.
On Monday, March 23, ACISD students began distance learning.
Students in Pre-K through second grade received take home packets Friday, March 20 to work on.
Students in grades 3-12 received online assignments. Students in grades 3-5 also received some work through take home packets.
The ACISD is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and is providing updates daily on its website at acisd.org and through the ACISD Facebook page.
ACISD makes changes in free lunch pick-up
The ACISD extended its free meal service by curbside to Friday, March 27. As the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) updates regulations, more changes could be made to the service next week.
The service remains the same for this week; serving meals Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to any child aged 18 and younger. Children do not have to be a student at ACISD to receive a free meal. The ACISD has, however, condensed its location pickups from three locations to two:
• Live Oak Learning Center (Car-rider line) - 31 Griffith Dr.
• Rockport-Fulton High School (Bus pick-up loop) - 1801 Omohundro St.
In order to receive a meal, the child receiving it must be present upon pickup per USDA regulations.
