The Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for three awards to be announced during the Wednesday, May 30 “Changing of the Gavel Banquet” at the Dining Hall of Camp Aranzazu.

The Citizen of the Year will be nominated from the community at large.

Chamber members will nominate Chamber Member of the Year, as well as a non-profit Chamber Member Organization of the Year.

The awards will take on new meaning this year as the chamber recognizes those who stepped up in the hurricane recovery process.

“It is an honor just to be nominated and we have so many worthy people, especially this year as we recover from Hurricane Harvey. I would like to receive the most nominations we have ever had,” said chairman of the Board Betty Hattman.

The banquet’s theme is “Back to Bein’ Me … Back to Bein’ Rockport-Fulton.”

Nomination forms include the criteria for selection, and are available at the chamber office at 319 Broadway, near Rockport Harbor.

The chamber encourages residents to reflect and think about the year just experienced, and nominate someone deserving of the award.

Deadline for submitting a nomination is 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 16.

For more information contact the Chamber of Commerce at 729-6445.
