Magnesium flaring

This vehicle was fully engulfed when dispatchers received the call at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28. Gillian Cox of the Rockport Volunteer Fire Department was first on the scene and found nobody in the vehicle, which was parked on the side of FM 1069 at Port Bay Road. Water hitting magnesium products (i.e. – in steering column, air bags, etc.) in the vehicle caused this light show, bottom.
