The City of Rockport received a 95% performance rating from the Texas Municipal League’s Intergovernmental Risk Pool’s (TMLIRP) Gas Utility Survey. This program is intended to assist TMLIRP members with risk management and operations issues, and to address potential risks associated with the gas distribution system prior to inspections by regulatory agencies.

According to TMLIRP, the City’s rating demonstrates its commitment to safety and efficiency. Only 27 cities in Texas have received a score of 95% or more.

City Manager Kevin Carruth said, “The performance rating is independent confirmation of what we already know – that our team consistently does an excellent job of operating and maintaining the gas system.”

He added the entire Gas Department deserves recognition for this accomplishment, including Anna Brandl, Gene Carmargo, Robert Decker, Mike Donoho, Tim Ford, Eleazar Gonzalez, Dale Martinets, Jr., Robert Ramos, Luis Trujillo Martinez, Juan Olivarez, John Pebsworth, and Dennis Thrailkill.
