Beginning Wednesday, July 17, residents in the recently annexed areas of the City of Rockport will receive trash and recycling services through Republic (the city’s supplier) on Wednesdays.

Letters have been sent to those residents. Garbage carts will be delivered to their homes. Individuals wishing to utilize the recycling services should contact Utility Customer Service to make arrangements for a cart.

Additionally, residents in the Whistlers Cove and Wandering Oaks subdivisions will have new pickup dates.

Whistlers Cove moves from Tuesday to Friday, and Wandering Oaks from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The change was made to better accommodate residents who often saw their pickup delayed for a day due to trucks becoming loaded out before reaching their neighborhood.

Maps and calendars will be available on the city’s web site by July 15. For more information, contact Utility Customer Service at (361) 729-2213, ext. 234.

There should have been a better schedule or structure to the management of waste collection in the area don't you think. There wouldn't have been this problem in the first place.
