The Aransas County Alliance Local Government Corporation (LGC) and the Aransas County Partnership Economic Development Corporation (EDC) have been formed.

The LGC’s first meeting agenda is posted to Aransas County’s website (www.aransascounty.org). The meeting is set for noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 in the Chairman’s Honor Hall at the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. It is an open meeting and subject to the open meetings act.

The EDC is in fundraising mode. An ad hoc committee met and developed a startup website and payment system. It can be found at www.aransascountyedc.org,

The website includes the investment benefits and categories. The annual meeting of the EDC is set for Friday, Jan. 31.

“We are excited about the progress made during the holidays. Let’s keep moving forward and stay focused on our theme for the year ‘This Is Our Home’,” said Chamber Chairman Blake McDavid.

“We have worked on the formation for an Economic Development organization for more than a year. Now, it is time to fund it so next steps can be taken to help drive and diversify our local economy,” said EDC Chairman John Jackson.

For more information, contact the Chamber at (361) 729-6445 or Jackson at john@johnpjackson.net.
