Aransas County Navigation District (ACND) commissioners, at their regular meeting Monday, June 6, approved the recommended contractor Luhr Crosby for the Fulton Harbor Breakwater Project.
“We’re a step further along on this (project),” said Harbor Master Keith Barrett. “We have gone out for, and received bids.”
He said Luhr Crosby’s bid is $1,792,499.
Barrett noted this project includes placement of rock on the outside of the breakwater, which will further strengthen it.
Commissioner Tommy Moore said he sees the deteriorated condition of the breakwater every day, and said this is a much-needed project.
“FEMA is paying for this project?” asked Commissioner Judy Vlasek.
“All but 10%,” said Barrett.
