Newest mural

The formal unveiling of a public art mural, “The Rockport-Fulton Art Colony”, painted by legendary local artist Steve Russell, was held Saturday, March 27 in downtown Rockport. A book signing for the children’s book, The ABCs of the Rockport-Fulton Art Colony: Artists & Their Inspiration followed the unveiling. Artists Barb Robinson and Clementine Rivera joined authors Kay Betz and Vickie Merchant Sunday, March 28 at the History Center for Aransas County for a second book signing. Work from many Rockport-Fulton Art Colony artists is included in the book. Downtown Rockport was abuzz Saturday with a 1925 Model T Car Show held in support of the restoration of the historic Rockport San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railroad Depot. The Rockport Cultural Arts District sponsored the events.
