City keeps planning for annexation

Posted: Wednesday, September 16, 2009 12:00 am

The Rockport City Council at its regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 8 discussed a growth management study, proposed annexation policy map, and prioritized growth areas. The council had a previous glance at the annexation map at its July 28 meeting, but Stan Hamerick of Freese and Nichols, Inc., the planning firm which provided the information, was on hand at last week’s meeting to discuss the plan in more detail.

The map provides a good starting point. It serves as a guide for annexing certain areas and how best to reach those properties. The council will take the information and update its current annexation plan.
