Donated van

CCAC President Stefany Simmons accepts the keys to their newly donated van from FBC Rockport Minister of Education and Administration Jeff Lanningham.

The First Baptist Church of Rockport recently donated a 2005 GMC van to the Children’s Coalition of Aransas County (CCAC). The Children’s Coalition, a 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to creating, providing and improving resources for children and families in Aransas County and surrounding areas, is putting the van to good use. It is currently being used four days a week to deliver meals to 53 area children.

“Many economically disadvantaged families in our community suffer from a lack of transportation,” said CCAC President Stefany Simmons. “This van will enable us to transport goods and materials to families who are unable to pick them up for themselves. We are so very grateful to First Baptist Church for this amazing gift.”

The Children’s Coalition of Aransas County is located at 401-B W. Market Street. Families in need of assistance are invited to stop by the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., or call the office at 361-255-3000.
