Two-plus years later ... open and bigger

Hampton Inn & Suites in Fulton reopened Thursday, Nov. 21 as a four-story hotel. The hotel had to be completely gutted after Hurricane Harvey. Owner Jatin Bhakta, pictured in front of the “now open” sign, decided to take advantage of an opportunity that presented itself after the storm – adding an additional floor. “The process has been long and tedious,” he said. “At times I wanted to just throw up my hands.” The hotel had 64 rooms before the storm. The new layout includes 91 rooms, as well as new amenities. It is the largest hotel in Aransas County. A grand opening will be held at a later date.
