Communities as a Start UP sessions began Sept. 16. It was an introduction of the Communities as Start UP (CASU) concept and review of the outcomes of Phase 1, which was completed in February.

Session two (Oct. 14) explored community aspirations as a foundation for implementing the CASU model.

The third of six sessions is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Wednesday, Nov. 11. It is about creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem as a structural imperative for the CASU model.

All sessions are held virtually through the leadership and coordination of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend Innovation Center. The public is invited to connect and give their input.

The sessions are a series of six free interactive virtual workshops focused on developing a Start UP community with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Future sessions

The fourth session is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, and will cover crafting the Community Model Canvas as a tool for creating competitive advantage.

The fifth session is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021. It is about engaging the TEAM Concept to accelerate the development of new entrepreneurial opportunities.

The sixth and final session of the series is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021. It will be about visualizing the long-term goals for Rockport-Fulton as a Start UP community.

This program is provided by a grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA). The EDA has been assisting Aransas County in long-term recovery after Hurricane Harvey.
