The City of Rockport is accepting applications for an Investigative Assistant. This position performs technical duties in the Criminal Investigations Division and assist with records and property storage. Duties include but are not limited to: performs a wide variety of general technical duties relating to the processing and maintenance of a variety of police records; retains and disseminates criminal records in accordance with state and federal laws and with department policies and procedures; types letters, reports and other correspondence; notarizes documents; answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; takes messages; refers to appropriate personnel; locates reports for customers; runs criminal histories; and utilizes the TCIC and NCIC systems; assists detectives and officers with requests for data.
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent with one to two years’ experience. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a NCIC/TCIC certification within 6 months. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Texas Notary Public Commission.
Salary range is $14.36 to $21.64 per hour, plus benefits.
