Ribbon cutting

Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Board Members, Bay Blazers, and staff were joined by guests recently to celebrate a ribbon cutting ceremony for AIM Hospice.

In 1986; Akin, Iles & Murphy formed a hospice program to serve Rockport & the surrounding area.

During the summer of 1987, AIM Hospice was officially formed as a non-profit hospice. The first board meeting was held on October 26, 1987. Their first patient was admitted on January 15, 1988.

AIM Hospice is very blessed in the fact that they did not have substantial damage to their building. They opened up their building to assist with others that had nowhere to meet to continue the cleanup phase. They have expanded out to the Corpus area and have been in the community to raise awareness to what Hospice has to offer.

They have also started an Alzheimer’s group for support that is needed with the Alzheimer’s Association. They also continue their coffee and caring, which is supportive in the grieving process.

They are proud that AIM Hospice has been providing services to the Coastal Bend for over 29 years.

They are located at 703 E. Concho St.
