Fees paid Aransas County through the two justices of the peace, district clerk, county clerk, the Aransas County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), and animal control are down $207,331.46 year-to-date (YTD), compared to the same period last year (through October).

That is about a 17% decrease YTD.

Only the ACSO is showing an increase in fee revenue through October.

Through the first 10 months of this year, Justice of the Peace 1 (JP1) is down 43%, Justice of the Peace 2 (JP2) is down 5%, district clerk is down 18%, county clerk is down 5%, ACSO is up 44%, and animal control is down 43%.

The amount of money received from each of the sources mentioned above, according to the October 2020 fee report, is as follows (current month, current YTD, prior YTD):

JP1 - $19,634.30, $180,885.67, $317,432.91

JP2 - $40,729.61, $249,528.43, $264,706.81

District clerk - $14,568.76, $152,999.07, $188,579.01

County clerk - $44,667.70, $381,475.24, $403,122.84

ACSO - $5,210, $31,331.48, $21,755

Animal control - $1,480.50, $10,424.50, $18,379.29
