Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Board Members, Bay Blazers, and staff were joined by guests recently to celebrate a ribbon cutting for ABBA Services.
Before Harvey hit, ABBA had six employees and around 40 recurring clients. After, they learned that only two employees were still in town and about a third of their client’s homes had been severely damaged. Their office storage had minimal wind and water damage and lost some of their equipment.
Without power or water for the next several weeks, it was difficult for them to provide cleaning services.
With bills to pay, the two remaining employees desperately needed work. Their supervisor assessed the work that was needed and told them it was going to be hard labor.
Both employees then took on different jobs with their remaining clients and continued to let them know ABBA Services was here to stay.
As utilities were restored, one by one their clients began to return and they continued to get busier as the days passed. They soon hired two more employees to be followed by another bringing them back up to five on the team. With their supervisor still out of the picture because of Harvey damage to their home, an office manager was hired to help with administration
Today, several of their clients have still not returned, with some having no intentions of returning. Because of that, they have marketed themselves and gained many new clients; both residential and commercial offices.
