Ribbon cutting

Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Board Members, Bay Blazers, and staff were joined by guests recently to celebrate a ribbon cutting and grand opening for Wilcox Furniture. Formerly known as Monroe’s furniture.

They are excited to add a 15,000 square foot furniture store to the Rockport community. They have also added a Bassett design center.

Bassett has been a recognized brand name in the U.S. for over 100 years and now residents can enjoy the new Bassett Design Center located at 12 Business 35.

When asked about the timing of the event in light of the recent damage due to the storm, CEO of Wilcox Furniture George Moore said, “We believe we are positioned at the right time since people are in the middle of rebuilding their lives. We have a free interior design service to assist folks in coming back stronger than before. We have ample credit available to redesign and create the living room, dining room or bedroom of our customer’s dreams! Technology has never been easier to custom build living rooms that can fit the specific needs of our customers. Best of all, its delivered in 30 days!”

“In the last 10 months we’ve been working to create a new facility that is in keeping with the coastal theme and training our staff to be up-to-date to educate and inform people on furniture and flooring options then delivering those great values fast. We have implemented new technology that will also help our staff with instant up to date information! With the wireless devices we can now give our customers the information they need instantly. We have also gone through and upgraded our website to provide a more helpful pre-shopping experience with new features,” said Moore.

Wilcox is committed to bringing back jobs to Rockport, build a better shopping experience, and help residents re-establish themselves to a better lifestyle than what they had before the storm.
