Business of Month

The Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce (RFCC) recognized SR Boil House LLC as Business of the Month for May 2022. Chamber Board Members, Business Builders, Bay Blazers, and staff, along with special guests, celebrated the recognition Thursday, May 5.

SR Boil House has been in business now for two years. What started out as a hobby and a cook-off team has flourished into a downtown hot spot for owner Augie Garcia. In May 2020, the SR Boil House opened its doors in Downtown Rockport. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic the Garcia family (Augie, Diego, V, Summer and Roman), went all in. With their special blend of spices, the SR Boil House quickly became a hit. From crawfish, spaghetti, and shrimp, to a salad bar, the SR Boil House wanted to provide a nice blend for the seafood and non-seafood lover alike.

SR Boil House wanted to provide another great restaurant that represented Rockport. Moving into the downtown area seemed to fit the family well. In the last two years they have settled in and have become a part of the community. Their goal is to provide fresh seafood that has a mix of all of the cultures here in Rockport. They strive to source most of their menu items locally, such as oyster, blue crab, and shrimp. The most popular item is their crawfish.

Giving back to the community is a core value for the SR Boil House. They continue to participate in fundraiser cook-offs as well as host several events. The Rockport Crawfish Cook-Off and Tasting has grown tremendously and has contributed more than $26,000 to local organizations. They’ve participated in Seafair, Rocktober Fest, Fishing for Wishes, Taste of Rockport, and this year helped Leadership Aransas County raise money for their 4H project. They are local sponsors for many other local organizations, such as the Rockport-Fulton Little League, the Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) NJROTC, RFHS Spanish Club, and other local youth groups in need of funding.
