Two people were injured in separate accidents Wednesday, Oct. 29, however, detailed information about them was not available as of press deadline Tuesday.
The first accident occurred at 2:24 a.m. on FM 1069, just south of that highway's intersection with State Highway 188. The driver of a late model Toyota Tundra, Vann Bottoms, 39, of Beeville, lost control of his vehicle while northbound on FM 1069. As he exited the curve the right wheels of the truck left the pavement. He overcorrected, crossed the highway, and the pickup rolled over an undetermined number of times.
Bottoms was transported to an area hospital by Aransas County EMS with undetermined injuries.
In the second unrelated accident, Mike Willemon, 59, was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Business 35 S. approaching the railroad crossing at the DeGussa Carbon Black plant.
A vehicle in front of him reportedly came to a stop when the warning lights for the train were activated.
Willemon could not stop in time and ran into the back of the vehicle, reportedly laying down the bike before impact.
He received a severe laceration to the head, but was alert and conscious. Willemon was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital via HALO-flight.
