DEVLIN

Faith Ann Devlin, 72, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. She was born July 13, 1936 in Plymouth, MA.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Devlin of Rockport; one daughter, Joann (Peter) Thrasher of Attleboro, MA; four grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

The family will hold private services at a later date.

LITTLE


Bernice H. Little, 82, passed away peacefully October 22, 2008. She was born January 23, 1926 to the late William and Annie Henneke in Hallettsville.

She was married to O.P. “Port” Little, the love of her life, who preceded her in death in 1990. Bernice was a devout Catholic who led by example in her faith. She loved her family and friends more than anything else. Port and Bernice raised their family, had their own business and were very involved in the community of Rockport for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Henneke, her brothers Walter Henneke, Oscar Henneke, and Roy Henneke and her daughter Pamela Little King. She is survived by her son Brad Little and his wife Jan, her daughter Sandy Pfeiffer and her husband Jim, her son-in-law Rodney King, grandchildren Morgen King Crowder and her husband Carl, Halen King, Brad King, Samantha Little, Angie Barington and her husband Chad, and Brian Monroe and his wife Jena. She is alo survied by her great-grandchildren Matthew, Ali, Zachary, and Andi, brother-in-law Jim Little, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held at Charlie Marshal Funeral Home in Rockport on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 1 until 9p.m. and a Rosary was held from 7 until 9p.m. A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 24 at 2pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockport. Graveside services will follow.

Bernice, Mother, Ma, Gammy, Aunt Bernice will be greatly missed by all of us. We were blessed to have known her.

McDONALD


Mickey Kent McDonald of Lorenzo, TX, passed away in his home on Key Allegro in Rockport on Tuesday, October 21. He was 68.

Visitation with the family was from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 22 at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport with family services to be held in Lubbock Saturday October 25.

Mickey was born November 1, 1939, at home in Lubbock to Alex and Lola McDonald. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School, where he played football for the Lubbock Westerners. He received a degree in business from Denver University. He married Susan Cubberly August 27, 1961, in Millburn, IL. They lived in Denver and Greeley, CO, before making their home in Lorenzo, east of Lubbock.

He was a successful salesman for American National Insurance Company and in 1970 became a partner in Hurst Farm Supply, Inc. of Lorenzo, one of the South Plains' largest John Deere dealerships. He served several terms on the Lorenzo City Council.

He is survived by his wife Susie; daughter Kimberly McDonald Evans and her husband, Terry, of Kennedale, TX; son Jason McDonald and his wife Katherine, of Pflugerville; grandchildren Troy, Walker, Fulton, and Key Evans, of Kennedale and Mickey James McDonald, of Pflugerville; a brother, Craig and his wife Ann of Lubbock; a sister, Conny McDonald Martin and her husband C. B. of Lubbock; sisters-in-law Dale Watne and her husband Jeff, and Rosie Breazier and her husband Bruce, all of Colorado; brother-in-law Richard Cubberly and his wife Carol of Park Ridge, IL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Fred, and a sister, Betty Peak.

Mickey was an avid golfer and made friends wherever he went. He and Susie spent many months a year at their vacation home on Key Allegro. He was a longtime supporter of the Children's Home of Lubbock and Lubbock Christian University.

MILLER


Charles Stephen (Steve) Miller, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi. He was born Oct, 2, 1922 in Aransas Pass, and was a lifetime resident. He had been a member of the Merchant Marines and was a plant operator at the Carbon Plant for many years. He had built more than thirty houses in the area.

Steve Miller was predeceased by Albert Leroy Miller and Anna Belle Stephens Miller, his parents; his brothers Claude and Henry; and his sister Ethel.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lillie Mae Karstedt Miller of Aransas Pass; and his sons, Charles Stephen Miller Jr. (Heather Johnson) of Aransas Pass and Robert Henry (Bob) Miller of Gainesville, MO. His grandchildren are Darlene Loree Miller of Aransas Pass; Charlotte Stephanie Prestridge (Jesse) of Wetumpka, AL; Robbie Gean Miller of Columbia, MD; and Jason Seth Miller of League City, TX. He has one great-granddaughter, Lillie Sarah Prestridge of Wetumpka, AL.

He is also survived by one sister, Mamie Wiley, of Aransas Pass; a niece and nephews.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the water near Bayside for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers the family will accept donations for an African preacher who is dedicated to mission work, via Lillie Miller.

PARR


Tracy Lynn Dietz Parr, 47, passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2008. She was born March 7, 1961 in Seguin. She had been a Rockport resident since 1997.

She is survived by four sons, Michael Cuellar, John Cuellar and James Cuellar, all of Rockport, and Thomas R. Farnsworth II of Portland; two daughters, Frostan (Robert) Evans and Michaela Cuellar, both of Aransas Pass; her mother, Rosalyn Dietz of Seguin; four brothers, Wayne (Becky) Dietz, Lane (Pam) Dietz and Wyatt (Diane) Dietz, all of Seguin, and Hank (Susie) Dietz of Idaho; two sisters, Hope (Wes Purdy) Reeves of Rockport, and Susie Linn of San Antonio; and three grandchildren

A private memorial service was held.

PRIDGEN


Dennis Brian Pridgen was born January 9, 1959 in Sarasota, FL and passed away on October 19, 2008 near San Antonio.

Dennis is survived by his mother Helen Jane Pridgen of Gainesville, FL; his brothers David Pridgen of Youngstown, FL and Michael Pridgen of Lake City, FL; his sister Cindy Pridgen of Las Vegas, NV; his nephews Brian Pridgen of Southport, FL; Mike Pridgen of Gainesville, FL; Patrick Pridgen of Lake City, FL; and niece Marissa Pridgen of Gainesville, FL.

Dennis graduated in 1987 from Auburn University with a BS of Biological Science, majoring in Fisheries, and also earned his Masters of Science from Auburn in 1990. He began his career as a biologist for then Florida Game and Fish Commission in Ocala, FL, before accepting a biology position in 1993 with Texas Parks and Wildlife in Rockport. Dennis learned to fish with his grandfathers and to hunt with his father and brothers. He maintained his love of the outdoors throughout his life. He was committed to preservation and restoration through his work and his leisure and published papers in support of his efforts. Except for his time at Auburn and in Ocala, he lived on the gulf coast where he continued learning about this unique ecosystem. He shared his passion for his endeavors with those in his life, delighting in telling all the details of his adventures. His stories will be sorely missed.
