BOWERS

Edd Bowers passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008. He had been a Rockport resident for the past 20 years. He was a retired college coach and longtime USGA rules official and was elected to the National Football and College Hall of Fame early this year.

A memorial service will be held at Grinnell College Sunday Sept. 28.

LAMBERT


Curtis Lambert, 72, passed away Sept. 20, 2008, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born to Walter and Nettie Lambert on May 2, 1936 in Sinton. He graduated from Mathis High School in 1954 where he was an outstanding athlete for the Mathis Pirates.


Curtis married Patricia Beyer in 1958 and they started their family soon after. He spent many years in the oil fields, some of which were spent in Tehran, Iran. After he and his family returned to Mathis, Curtis was employed with the Texas Department of Corrections at the McConnell Unit in Beeville. Following his retirement, Curtis moved to Rockport to be close to family. He made many friends in his short time in Rockport.

Curtis was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and he enjoyed watching them through good and bad seasons. He was a Christian who loved the Lord and he lived his life as a testament to that. He will be remembered for his quick wit, firm handshake, and his great laugh. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pat and two brothers, Walter and John Lambert. He is survived by his daughter Jackie Baxley of Rockport and her two sons, Dustin (Allison) Baxley, Todd Baxley, and their father Steve Baxley. He is also survived by his son Wayne (Mary) Lambert of Robstown and their children, Jillian (Rodney) Denton, Andrew Lambert, Kate Lambert, and Sawyer Lambert. Also surviving is one great-grandson, Noah Denton. Additional survivors include brothers, Doyle (Tina) Lambert, Charles (Ruby Lois) Lambert, brother-in-law Paul Edward (Barbara) Beyer, sisters-in-law Paula (Harold) Winsauer, Mary Margaret Shively, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to AIM Hospice and their dedicated staff A special thank you is extended to Mary Chapin, Victoria Marshall, Pat Mason, and Denise Stempert for the love and compassion shown to Curtis and his family during this difficult time.

A visitation and reception will be held Thursday, Sept. 25 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Rockport fellowship hall. Visitation in Mathis will be held at Dobie Funeral Home on Friday, Sept., 26 from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 27 at 10 am at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis. Graveside services will follow at Cenizo Cemetery in Mathis.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Baxley, Todd Baxley, Andrew Lambert, Sawyer Lambert, Gary Olliff, and Kenneth Lambert.


In lieu os flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice

MAUERMANN


Dee Rene Gosling Mauermann, 82, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008. She was born in Ogden, UT.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mauermann. She is survived by three daughters, Analisa Mauermann Kennedy of Goliad, Terry Mauermann of Seguin, and Kelly Mauermann of Port Isabel; one son, Thomas Mauermann of Seguin; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 20 at Goetz Memorial Chapel, with interment following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
