BROYLES

Paulette G. Broyles, 65, passed away Aug. 12, 2008. She was born Oct. 16, 1942 in Brunswick GA. She had been a Rockport resident for two months.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, John Raleigh Murrhee Jr. She is survived by her husband, Laverne Broyles of Rockport; one son, Kerry (Beverly) Morgan of Lake City, FL; one daughter, Teresa “Tina” (Jerry) Saam of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was to be held Friday, Aug. 15 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at the Marshall Chapel.

LOWE


Dorey Lowe, 75, passed away Aug. 8, 2008.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth (Judy) Brown of Rockport; one daughter, Jana Toulouse of Clatskanie, OR; one sister; one niece; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. in the Fuiten, Rose and Hoyt Funeral Home Chapel in Forest Grove, OR with a fellowship to immediately follow. Chaplain Tom Towers will officiate and guitar music will be provided by her grandson, Nathan Brown.

NAVA


Cecilio Rudolfo “Rudy” Nava, 82, passed through the gates of Heaven to join his beloved wife on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. He was born February 1, 1926 in Rockport and spent his entire life there. Rudy was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Rhineland Campaign, Central Europe during World War II. He worked for Picton's Lumber Co. for 25 years and for Wagley Lumber Company for 10 years.

His mother, Lola Nava; wife, Clara Munoz Nava and great-granddaughter, Lundyn Jayde Nava preceded Rudy in death. Survivors include three sons, Anthony (Rose) Peres of Corpus Christi, Rudy (Emma) Nava Jr. of Rockport and Hector (Frances) Nava of Ingleside; four daughters, Yolanda (Felix) Garcia Jr., Rosa (Joe Arjona) Krinsky and Nelda (Gasper) Covarrubias, all of Rockport and Norma (Joe) Garza of Houston; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and loyal and dedicated friends and caregivers, Juanito and Edith DeLaCruz of Rockport.


The family thanks the administrative staff, nurses, CNAs and therapists from Gulf Pointe Plaza along with his dedicated doctors, Fred Warren, M.D., and Stan Haun, D.O. of Rockport and John E. Shultz, M.D. of Corpus Christi for their loving care.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2008 and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2008 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Rockport. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockport with Msgr. Louis Kihneman III as celebrant. Interment will follow at Rockport Cemetery.

STEWART


Matthew Stewart, 31, passed away August 13, 2008 in Corpus Christi. He was born February 12, 1977 in Carrizo Springs to Larry J. and Rosemary Stewart.

He was a lifelong resident of Rockport and attended school in Rockport and was an active member of Coastal Oaks Church and sang in the choir. In 1994, when Matthew was in a single vehicle car accident, he wasn't expected to live and with the help of the Lord, he recovered and even though blind and handicapped, he attended Del Mar College, and completed two certificates in business with a 4.0 GPA. Matthew was an inspiration to many.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristen Nicole Stewart of Dubuque, Iowa; his parents, Larry and Rosemary Stewart of Rockport; sister, Tamara (Brad) Thedin of Rockport; paternal grandmother, Virginia Stewart of Rockport and maternal grandparents, Dale and Ruth Walker of Crystal City.

Visitation was held from Noon until 8 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2008 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, 814 E. Main, Rockport with family present from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Coastal Oaks Church, with Rev. Kevin Muilenburg officiating. Interment will follow at Rockport Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Coastal Oaks Church Building Fund, 2002 FM 3036, Rockport, Texas 78382.
