Richard “Dick” T. Joseph, 77, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008. He was born Oct. 6, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. He had lived in Rockport for 27 years. Joseph is survived by his wife, Reta of Rockport; three daughters, Joy Joseph and Jody (John W.) Lee, both of Rockport and Jill Joseph of Corpus Christi; one brother; two sisters; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service at Salt Lake Baptist Church, Rockport is pending.
Dr. Frances H. Jansa, 80, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born June 20, 1927 in Cisco, Texas to Joseph Clarence and Lucille Rowney Hanrahan. She was Catholic. Frances moved to Fort Worth in 1944 and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1946 with a Bachelor of Science. She continued her education at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She met her husband, Arthur Milton Jansa while attending medical school and they married on June 22, 1947. She graduated from medical school and practiced medicine as an anesthesiologist. She had lived in Rockport for the past 30 years.
Her son, Arthur Jansa Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Deborah) Jansa of Austin and William (Betsy) Jansa of Houston; a daughter, Sharon (Michael) Ryther of Round Rock; a sister, Janet Thompson of Bradenton, FL; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to services at the graveside.
Robert Kurtz, 76 passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at his residence. He was born Nov. 30, 1931. There are no immediate survivors.
No services are planned.
Shirley J. Latham, 72, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008. She was born January 13, 1936 in Dallas to Shawlver and Rema Lewis. Shirley and her husband, Tommy were married in Mesquite, Texas in 1952 and lived there until moving to Rockport in 1998.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Tommy of Rockport; two sons, Rickie (Cheryl) Latham of Clearlake, MN and William Latham of Rockport; daughter, Marla (Angel) Ramos of Apache Junction, AZ; two sisters, Patsy Guthrie and Wanda Logan, both of Gun Barrel City, TX; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and viewing were held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Rockport.

Dorothy Alvina Rhodes Morrison Leslie passed away peacefully on March 19, 2008, one day before her 98th birthday. She was born on March 20, 1910 in Fargo, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James W. and Alvina Abram Rhodes; her brother Earl Rhodes; her sister, Ruth Von Heydenreich; her son, James Theodore Morrison; her grandson, James Richard Morrison; and her beloved husband, Hugh Lacey Morrison. She was preceded by her second husband, John Leslie.
She is survived by her children, Robert Lacey Morrison and wife, Judy of Houston; Edward William Morrison and wife, Dolores of San Antonio; Marilyn Ruth Buchholz and husband, Bill of Kopperl; and Hugh Martin Morrison and wife, Sara of Houston; grandchildren, Russell Hanes Morrison and wife, Tara, Theo Roberta Arrieta, Ronald Todd Morrison and wife, Rebecca, Kenneth Edward Morrison and wife, Deirdre, Ann Michele Tidwell and husband, Ronnie, Sandra Lynn Buchholz, Wesley Alan Buchholz, Thomas Wayne Morrison, Hugh Andrew Morrison and Matthew White Morrison; great-grandchildren, Corey Casey Morrison, William Travis Arretia, Michela Rae Arreita, Justin Riley Morrison, Lynden Faye Sheperd, Amy Nicole Morrison, Parker Dylan Sheperd, Camille Renee Morrison, Taylor Sheperd, Delaney Jo Morrison and Caroline Michel Morrison; and a niece, Dorothy Erstad.
Dorothy was a resident of Rockport since 1938. She was a dedicated mother who willingly participated in school activities for her children. The spiritual center of her life was the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a devoted member for seventy years. She never failed to volunteer to help her church family and served as church secretary for many years. She was active in the family business, Morrison's Sportsman Center, and a member/volunteer of numerous civic organizations, including the B&PW Club, the Aransas County Public Library, the EMS Enterprise Boutique, the Eastern Star, AARP and the Coastal Bend Hospital Auxiliary.
The family received friends Thursday, March 20, 2008, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Rockport. Funeral services were to be held Friday, March 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Rockport. Interment was to follow at Rockport Cemetery.
The family gratefully acknowledges the support and compassion of Dr. Stan Haun and the loving staff at Gulf Pointe Plaza and Harbor Hospice.
Mary F. Qualls, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008. She was born Sep. 12, 1927 in Cairo, IL. She had lived in Rockport for 20 years and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Eastern Star.
She is survived by one son, David H. Ray of Anna, IL and one daughter, Donna Roberts of Rockport; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church at a later date.
Glenda E. Williams, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008. She was born October 19, 1918 in Bullard, Texas to Frank and Lizzie Roper. She had been a resident of Rockport for 60 years and was a homemaker.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Ray Williams; and two daughters, Sondra Stanford and Peggy Horak. She is survived by four grandchildren, Rhonda (Mike) Garcia of Alice, Joei Cooper and Jason Crocker, both of Kerrville and Denise (Javier) De Vivero of Raleigh, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Debbie Maxon and family of Rockport.
A Memorial Service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2008 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, Rockport.
