Elizabeth Jackson, a senior from Rockport who attends school in Tivoli, has signed a national letter of intent to run track at Dana College in Blair, NE.
Jackson is expected to run in both the 200 meter and 400 meter events for the Vikings.
She is the daughter of Fred Jackson of Rockport and Christine Wente of Ohio. The young lady plans on majoring in elementary education and coaching.
Jackson explained about her choice, “I chose Dana because of its academic prestige and the small town atmosphere.”
She has been the 200 meter district champion from 2004 through 2007. She has also qualified for the AAU Junior Olympic Games.
Head track coach Allen Friesen said, “Elizabeth will make a definite impact on our team next year. I am so very excited that she has chosen Dana College.”
Dana College is a private, Lutheran college. The Vikings are members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
