A private interment is planned at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, with services provided by the Premiere Funeral Home of Corpus Christi.

Peggy Joyce Park was born on May 03, 1930, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Curtis and Sadie Vanderslice Carmack. When Peggy was twelve years old her mother died, and in following years she was lovingly raised by her father and step-mother, Erma Burleson Carmack, with the special help of her cousin, Margaret Ledbetter. Peggy grew up and attended Ponca City schools, graduating in 1948. As a teen, she was a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Peggy married Orland Hyde Park, Jr. on June 18, 1948 in Ponca City. The couple traveled throughout many states with his job as a heavy construction welder and spent almost thirty years living in Rockland County, New York before moving back to Ponca City following Mr. Park's retirement, later moving to Rockport, Texas.

She was a member of the Rockport, Texas Presbyterian Church where she spent several years serving on the sunshine committee, visiting shut-ins and supplying cheerful cards to many of the congregation while she encouraged and supported her husband in his activities related to the Masonic Lodge. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and making friends wherever she went. Throughout her life she always loved the companionship provided by her pet dogs. Most of all, she enjoyed keeping house and wrapped her life around her family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, O.H. Park, Jr.; her mother, Sadie Carmack; her father, John C. Carmack, and her step-mother, Erma I. Carmack.

She is survived by her son, Craig Park, of Austin, Texas, and her daughter, Dana Gesner, of Rockport, Texas; sister Paula Denson and brother-in- law Robert Denson of Ponca City; brother Reid Carmack and sister-in-law Patti Carmack of Ponca City; sister Sheryl Sallee of Oklahoma City; sister Iris Ballou of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her aunt and uncle, Margaret and J.E. Ledbetter, of Ponca City, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as a host of loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name in care of Ira Cooperman, director of philanthropy, Masonic Care Community Home, 2150 Bleeker Street, Utica, New York 13501 or to the Hospice program of their choice.
