RFHS tennis players named to All South Texas Tennis Team
Three Rockport-Fulton High School tennis athletes were recently named to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times All South Texas Tennis Team.
Those athletes are senior Stephen Cavazos, and juniors Shawn Cavazos and Alison Trigg.
The All-South Texas Tennis Team is made up of the best players from the South Texas area high schools.
Stephen Cavazos, a 2007 graduate, was named to the first team for his singles play this year. This is his fourth time on the All South Texas list. He was district champion and competed in the regional tournament this past April. The young man finished his senior year with only one loss in district play.
He will be continuing his tennis career at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio in the fall.
Shawn Cavazos and Trigg were named to the first team for their outstanding play in the mixed doubles division.The duo were district champions and gained valuable experience in the regional tournament in San Antonio in April.
Both will be seniors next year and are looking forward to competing and returning to the regional tournament play and possibly state in both team and individual tennis.
