This vacant commercial building on Highway 35 N. in Holiday Beach at the blinking light received heavy fire and smoke damage to the north end of the building in a fire Tuesday about 3 p.m. Although the fire was called in as one in a vacant building, Lamar Volunteer Fire Department Chief Carl Stubbs said someone was apparently living in the area which was damaged. He said a cause for the blaze had not been determined. The Fulton Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
