FLC family science night held

Fulton 4-5 Learning Center recently held a family science night Tuesday, March 14 which focused on astronomy and oceanography.

The event was made possible through a grant with Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi called the Cabeza de Vaca Earthmobile Project. The purpose of the grant is to increase elementary students’ understanding of the earth sciences.

Science teachers Martha McLeod, Debbie Shedden, and David Pringle work with professors from TAMU-CC and other grant participants throughout the school year on various projects which help to heighten students’ knowledge of the earth sciences.

In addition to TAMU-CC staff, members of the Corpus Christi Astronomical Society were also on hand at the event with large telescopes for the students to view the earth’s moon and the planet Saturn. One of Saturn’s moons was also visible through the telescopes. Stations dealing with oceanography were also set up inside the school’s cafeteria. Students had opportunities to learn about density differences in fresh water versus salt water and to view an Enviroscape to see how pollution on land affects the quality of our water supply.

" Fascinating! So these 2 guys have developed computer models that are better than all the models and efforts of the 1000s of climate scientists working on this over the last 30 years? Amazing. Especially since neither of them have any apparent background in climate science!
Instead of presenting this to the scientific world in a peer reviewed journal, these guys publish it in this book in an attempt to sway public opinion. I could go on as many of the statements in this article are misleading, or blatantly ludicrous. Suffice it to say, it looks to me like this book is much more about influencing public opinion than any scientific review of whether human activity is causing climate change.
It is sad some people will believe this as fact. "

Classic of the species parrot. "
